Preboarding

Preboarding is everything that happens between a new hire signing their contract and their first official day. It’s that often-overlooked window where excitement meets uncertainty and the best companies use it to build connection and confidence early. During preboarding, employees might receive a welcome video, access to an introduction portal, or even a personalized message from their future team. The goal is simple: to make them feel part of the company before they even arrive. A smooth preboarding experience reduces first-day anxiety and sets the tone for an engaging onboarding journey. It also helps with practical setup like gathering documents, arranging equipment, and sharing first-week schedules. More importantly, it signals that the organization values its people and plans ahead. A great preboarding experience says, “We’re ready for you, and we’re thrilled you’re joining us.”
