Kirkpatrick Model

The Kirkpatrick Model is one of the most well-known frameworks for evaluating training effectiveness. It measures impact across four levels: reaction (how learners feel), learning (what they’ve gained), behavior (how they apply it), and results (the business outcomes). This model helps L&D teams move beyond simple satisfaction surveys and into real evidence of change. For example, did the training actually improve performance or customer satisfaction? The Kirkpatrick Model encourages reflection at every stage both before, during, and after learning initiatives. It’s a timeless reminder that learning isn’t successful just because it was delivered, it’s successful because it made a difference.
