SCORM

SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) might sound technical, but its purpose is simple: it ensures e-learning content can work seamlessly across different platforms and Learning Management Systems (LMS). Think of it as a universal language that lets learning content “talk” to the system that delivers it. With SCORM-compliant courses, organizations can track completion rates, scores, and progress, no matter which platform they use. It’s been a cornerstone of digital learning for decades because it guarantees compatibility and consistency. However, as learning has evolved to include more informal and mobile experiences, SCORM’s limitations have become clearer. Still, it remains an essential standard for structured online training, especially in compliance and certification contexts.
